We all miss sports, hanging out with our friends, and playing games. Well, here’s an opportunity to do that with your church family, in the great indoors!
WHEN: July 7th, after the online church service, 11:45 to 1:00. We will give a 15 minute buffer after church for people to get ready!
WHO: You! That includes kids, parents, and everybody in between. There will be a sign up sheet with time slots that goes around leading up to July 7th. Teams are made up of your connect group; think of them as “countries” in the Olympic sense! Connect groups need to decide on a name for their “country”.
WHAT: It’s the Olympic games, but from your own house, with a quarantine theme! There will be 5 events, each event is a short “minute to win it” type challenge (so even the parents and kids can participate!) Each group should nominate 3 people per event, with 1 alternate in case of unfortunate internet issues.
WHERE: On Zoom, taking place of the post-sermon discussion rooms.
WHY: We want to bring our church family together in fellowship, when we are not able to be physically together. We aren’t united by a building, or connect group location, or anything else other than the Spirit of Christ who lives in each one of us!
List of events:
The only safe way to fly: Build a paper airplane and see how far it goes
How well do you know social distancing? Take a tape measure, flip it over so the numbers don’t show, and walk out until you think you’re at 6 feet
NBA Paper basketball 3 point challenge: how many paper basketballs can you shoot into a trash can from 6 feet away in 30 seconds
Speed dressing: How fast can you put on 10 shirts?
Coronavirus relay race: Using one hand, teammates race to put on a mask, glove, and wash their hands
